BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Emmequadro is the name of the artistic duo created by Massimo Dordoni, a native of Bologna, and Maria Serina, born in Crema, where she lives. The knowledge of the photographic image on one side and the creative ability to use the fabrics on the other, have created a four hands project. Maria Grazia Serina has dedicated the latest series on the creative expressiveness of the compositions of clothes and narrative, and on the inn potential of the alteration of the normal status of clothes that usually dress us and holds us, therefore telling a story through them.
ARTWORK IN CONTEST
AL (L) I WANT, 2013
PHOTOGRAPHY
cm 150 X 100
The photographic shot of Emmequadro (pen names of Massimo Dardani and Maria Grazia Serina), where, at the center of the image, surrounded by a forest, it is a metal coated female figure, dressed in nineteenth century clothes within a surreal scene. The reference to a visionary romanticism, evoking contexts of other times, is partly contradicted by the ball - maybe a globe, the only chromated element of the photo - that the figure is holding in her hand, with mysterious symbolism.
