The award ceremony
The moment long awaited by artists, scholars and audience of fans of the COMEL Award is finally coming: the award ceremony of the winners of the Seventh Edition is scheduled for Saturday, October 20 at 18.00, at the art gallery Spazio COMEL Arte Contemporanea (via Neghelli, 68, Latina, Italy). We will discover which artist won the Jury Prize and which won the Public Prize.
The path, started last March with the opening of the call, will end with a party dedicated to art and sharing. This edition has decreed the success of 13 artists from 7 countries on the European continent and beyond. The artists, whose personalities vary by training, experiences and age, have taken a challenge of interpreting the theme of this year, harmony, through the creative use of aluminum.
The public can visit the thirteen finalist works, on display in the ‘Harmonies in Aluminium’ exhibition, from 6 to 27 October. They are distinguished by different techniques, approaches and visions. In fact, plurality, multidisciplinarity and international atmosphere characterize this Seventh Edition of the COMEL Award. A competition that every year tends to excel itself and to make sharing and real cultural exchange between artists and enthusiasts its true goal.
On Saturday afternoon at 6:00 pm the jury, represented by the President Giorgio Agnisola and the jurors Lorenzo Canova and Andrea Baffoni, will nominate the winners.
An internationally renowned guest will enliven the evening: Maestro Marco Lo Russo, accordionist and composer, ambassador of Italian culture abroad, who in his career has collaborated with high-level musicians such as Nicola Piovani.
Maestro Lo Russo will propose some pieces taken from his vast repertoire ranging from classical music to world music, from sacred music to film music, with a strong component of improvisation.
The exhibition is open to the public every day from 17:00 to 20:00 until Saturday 27 October.
