Preparations are under way for the opening of “Harmonies in Aluminum”, the event which will conclude the seventh edition of Contemporary Art Award COMEL.

From October 6th to 27th, the finalists’ works will be exhibited at the Spazio COMEL art gallery of Latina in an exhibition with international colors and shades. Seven European countries will be represented through the selected works of the thirteen competing artists: Italy, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Poland and Russia. And this year the Prize COMEL also crossed the borders of Europe – there are artists from Iran and Israel – as this is allowed by the announcement, as long as you reside or work in Europe.

Thirteen different personalities will be present with their wit and modern reflection on the theme of harmony, achieved by using different techniques and languages, through aluminum. It is precisely this mixture of geographic experiences, languages and techniques that characterizes the seventh edition of the COMEL Prize.

This is another edition of sharing and real cultural exchange. The internationally renowned artists will come to Latina to contend for the Jury Prize and the Audience Award, which will be awarded on Saturday 20 October, during the awards ceremony.

The appointment is for Saturday, October 6 with the inauguration of the exhibition, during which the catalog with the critical texts of the jurors will be presented.

The jurors: president of the jury Giorgio Agnisola, art critic and writer, teacher of Sacred Art at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy; Andrea Baffoni, art historian and art critic, curator of exhibitions in Italy and abroad, essayist and journalist; Lorenzo Canova, art historian, curator, art critic and associate professor of History of Contemporary Art at the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education of the University of Molise; Ada Patrizia Fiorillo, art historian, art critic, journalist and associate professor of History of Contemporary Art at the University of Ferrara; the entrepreneur and manager Maria Gabriella Mazzola, owner with her family of the CO.ME.L. company, promoter and supporter of the COMEL Award.
